For Disney , she starred in the 1941 original version of the cartoon The Dragon against her will as a spokeswoman. Bryant also played the title character in Goodbye, Miss Turlock , a short film about an old school teacher that won an Oscar for Best Short Film in 1948 . In the 1950s she withdrew noticeably from the film business and still had a few television roles. Nana Byrant, whose private life is unknown, died on Christmas 1955 at the age of 67.
