Nashik ( Marathi जळगाव विभाग ) is a division in the Indian state of Maharashtra . It is partly in the Khandesh region in the Tapti Valley .
history
The northern part formed the Khandesh district until 1906 , which was then divided into east and west . On October 21, 1960, the East Khandesh District was renamed Jalgeon District; West Kandash District was renamed Dhule District. The Nandurbar District was formed on July 1, 1998 from the Dhule District.
