Konkan ( Marathi कोकण विभाग ) is a division in the Indian state of Maharashtra . It includes the Konkan region and thus the entire coast of Maharashtra.
history
Before 1961 the division belonged to the state of Bombay , after which it was split into Gujarat and Maharashtra. In 1981 the Sindhudurg district was formed from the southern part of the Ratnagiri district.
