Natalie Grant
Natalie Grant (born December 21, 1971 in Seattle , Washington ) is an American singer of Christian music.
Career
Natalie Grant began her singing career in the Alabama- based gospel band Truth . In the mid-1990s, she started a solo career in Nashville . Her debut album, named after her, was released on the label Benson Records in 1999. She then moved to Pamplin Music , where the album Stronger was released two years later . When the label ceased operations, it was taken over by Curb Records . But it was not until their fifth album Awaken that they achieved their first great success. In 2005 it came to number 3 on the Top Christian Albums and also in the official album chartsshe got in and stayed there for three months. She received a gold record for the album . Two songs on the album, Held and What Are You Waiting For , made it into the top 10 of the Christian songs charts. At the end of the year she also released the Christmas album Believe with five Christmas hit singles. She was then named Singer of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards.
With the albums Relentless and Love Revolution she was able to increase the success in 2008 and 2010 respectively. She also defended her title as singer of the year at the Dove Awards until 2009. In 2011 she recorded the song Alive for the compilation Music Inspired by the Story . She also received a Grammy nomination and her fifth Dove Award for the first time for the performance . Two years later, Grant reached number 1 on the Christian album charts and the top 20 on the US album charts for the first time with Hurricane . The album and theme song earned her three more Grammy nominations in 2014 and 2015, respectively . Two years later, her ninth studio album, Be One , was released, with which Grant again topped the Christian music charts. The song King of the World was her eighth top 10 hit among Christian Songs. The song and album earned her Grammy nominations number five and six.
In addition to music, Natalie Grant is also active against human trafficking. She is a co-founder of the Abolition International organization .
