Natalija Wiktorowna Rasumovskaya ( Russian: Ната́лья Ви́кторовна Разумо́вская ; at the FIS based on English transcription Natalia Razumovskaya ; born August 18, 1975 in Moscow ) is a former Russian freestyle skier . She specialized in the no longer performed discipline ballet (acro) . In 1999 she was the last world champion in this discipline. In addition, she won two individual competitions in the World Cup.

biography

Natalija Razumovskaya grew up as the daughter of two well-known gymnastics teachers and was a Soviet master in rhythmic gymnastics in her youth . In 1989 she switched to freestyle skiing without ever having skied.

In December 1995, at the age of 20, she made her debut in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup and was instantly among the top ten. Just a month later, she achieved her first World Cup victory in Breckenridge , whereupon she was named World Cup Rookie of the Year at the end of the season . In the 1996/97 season she increasingly turned to snowboarding . At the Russian championships she won bronze in the parallel slalom and just barely missed another medal as fourth in snowboard cross . Eventually she stayed with ballet and celebrated her second and last World Cup victory in Blackcomb in January 1998 . At the World Championships in Meiringen - Hasliberg , she continued the streak of victories of the Russian women in ballet and secured the gold medal in front of her compatriot and defending champion Oxana Kushchenko . The removal of the ballet discipline from the World Cup calendar put an end to her career in March 2000.

Razumovskaya is a graduate of the State Academy of Physical Culture. After the end of her active career, she first worked as a trainer in a Moscow gym, then as a ski instructor. She was also involved in Sochi's application for the 2014 Winter Olympics . In 2011 she took over the position of coach of the Russian national halfpipe team .
