The 8th Freestyle Skiing World Championships took place from March 8th to 14th, 1999 in Hasliberg , Switzerland . After the elimination of the combined classification, the direct comparison of two starters on the mogul slope, the Dual Moguls, was held as a World Cup discipline for the first time. As a result, there were again four gold medals for men and women to be awarded.
