Natalja Nikolajewna Iljina ( Russian: Наталья Николаевна Ильина ; born June 3, 1985 in Cheboksary ) is a Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Iljina has been participating in FIS competitions since 2003 . She had her first international success at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2004 in Stryn . There she won gold with the relay. In March 2005 she won silver with the relay and gold over 5 km at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2005 in Rovaniemi . She ran her first World Cup race in January 2006 in Oberstdorf , which she finished in 34th place in the sprint. The following year she got her first World Cup points in Rybinsk with 25th place in the 15 km mass start race. Since 2007 she has also competed in the cross-country skiing Eastern Europe Cup . She has achieved six podium finishes so far, including one win, and finished ninth in the 2015/16 season and third place in the overall standings in the 2016/17 season . She finished the Tour de Ski 2007/08 and the Tour de Ski 2008/09 in 32nd and 30th place. In January 2009 she reached her first top ten placement in the World Cup with ninth place in the sprint in Rybinsk. The following month, she won gold in the freestyle sprint at the Winter Universiade in Yabuli . In January 2010 she achieved 28th place overall at the Tour de Ski 2009/10 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo , she finished 18th in the sprint. In February 2015, she came in 36th place in the 30 km mass start race at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun . At the Tour de Ski 2016 she came in 40th place.
