As early as 1993, when women's wrestling was still in its early years, it started for the first time in an international championship, namely the Junior World Championship in Götzis / Austria. She finished there in the weight class up to 52 kg behind the Japanese Yumi Ishida in 2nd place.

After that she was only at an international championship again in 1999. She came in 4th place at the European Championships in Götzis in the weight class up to 56 kg. At the World Championships in 1999 in Boden / Sweden and in 2001 in Sofia, Natalja Karamtschakowa took 5th place in the weight class up to 51 kg.

2003 turned out to be the most successful year of her career. In May of this year she became European champion in a superior style in Riga with victories over Anne Catherine Deluntsch , France, Nadir Urun Percin, Turkey, Maria del Mar Peralta, Spain, Alexandra Engelhardt , Germany and Ida Hellström , Sweden. She didn’t give up a round in these 5 fights and achieved a points ratio of 47: 0! to their favor. In 2004, at the Olympic Games in Athens, wrestling competitions for women took place for the first time, but only in four weight classes. The weight class up to 55 kg body weight was included. Natalja Karamtschakowa, however, failed in the Russian Olympic elimination against Olga Smirnova and could therefore not start in Athens.

From 2005 Natalja Golz dominated the weight class up to 55 kg in Russia for a few years. Natalja Karamtschakowa was therefore no longer used at international championships and ended her wrestling career in 2007.
