Jonathan Nathan "Nate" Jaqua (born October 28, 1981 in Eugene , Oregon ) is a former American football player .

life and career

Nate, son of former Washington Redskins wide receiver Jon V. Jaqua, began his career at the home high school of South Eugene High School. After Jaqua came to the University of Portland, he was hired as a professional player by Chicago Fire in 2003 . After two years in Chicago , the striker moved to Canada for Toronto FC , where he was not happy. He went to Los Angeles Galaxy , where he again only stayed briefly. After another trip to Chicago, the American moved to Houston Dynamo in 2007 . With the men from Houston he won the US championship in 2007. In January 2008, Jaqua decided to move to Austria for SCR Altach . He returned to Houston in the summer of 2008.

Jaqua made his debut in the Bundesliga on February 16, 2008 in the 24th round, at the game between Altach and FK Austria Wien . Jaqua played through and scored the opening goal with a 1-1. In his second Bundesliga game against SK Rapid Wien , he scored the 2-1 winning goal. Internationally, he played twice for the USA national team.

On November 26, 2008, he was selected by Seattle Sounders FC in the 2008 MLS Expansion Draft and started the new season for this team. He stayed there until the end of the 2011 season. After Seattle did not renew his contract and an engagement with New England Revolution broke up, he announced the end of his career.
