Nathanael Lieberkühn

Nathanael Lieberkühn (born July 8, 1821 in Barby , † August 14, 1887 in Marburg ) was a German physician and anatomist .

From 1843 Lieberkühn studied philology and philosophy at the Universities of Halle and Berlin . In spring 1845 he switched to medicine and was a. a. Listener to the anatomist Johannes Peter Müller .

1849 closed Lieberkühn his studies with a doctorate to the Dr. med. from. From 1857 Lieberkühn was a prosector at the Berlin anatomy . His tasks there were z. T. also the basis of his habilitation in 1858. In 1860 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina .

In 1867 Lieberkühn accepted a position at the University Hospital Marburg and worked there until his death in 1887. His colleague Karl von Bardeleben wrote an honorable obituary .
