National Napalm Syndicate is a Finnish speed and thrash metal band from Pudasjärvi , which was founded in 1986 under the name National Napalm Storm , dissolved in 1991 and re-founded in 2002. She is one of the first Finnish representatives of the genre.

history

The band was formed in 1986. Initially, the band played covers of Metallica's album Kill 'Em All and Exodus ' Bonded by Blood , until the band decided to write their own songs. After some line-up changes and the release of some demos, the band reached a contract with EMI , through which the band released their debut album National Napalm Syndicate in 1989. The band played many gigs in Finland, along with other bands such as ARG and Stone . The band split in 1991. Bassist Juha Vuorma became cover designer during this time and designed album covers for bands such as ARG, Autopsy , Whiplash and Unholy .

In 2002 the band got back together. The only original members were guitarists Markku Jokikokko and Jukka Kyro. The new members were drummer Jari Kaiponen, bassist Tero Nevala and singer Ile Järvenpää. Jokikokko and Kyro started writing new songs, so in 2003 and 2004 a demo was released each. In addition, the band played live performances again for the first time. In February and March 2005 the band went on tour through Finland together with Sacred Crucifix and Maple Cross. In May the band went to Hellgate Studio to record another album. After that the band played at the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival and the Jalometali. The band also held a tour of northern Finland with Sethery and Sacred Crucifix. Then the group finished the recordings in the Tonebox Studio with producer Kari Vahakuopus and in the Finnvox Studio . The album Resurrection of the Wicked was released in 2006 via Poison Arrow Records in Finland and via Trinity Records in Asia . In 2006 and 2007 various appearances followed in Finland. In 2007 the compilation The Birth, Death and Resurrection was released via EMI. It contained the first two albums, previously unreleased material and some cover versions. In the summer of 2007 the band recorded another album at Hellgate Studio, which was released in 2009 under the name Devolution of Species .

style

The band plays classic, fast-paced Thrash Metal that is comparable to the works of other bands like Solitaire and The Scourger .
