The Tbilisi National Park ( Georgian თბილისის ეროვნული პარკი , Tbilissis erownuli parki; also Tbilisi National Park ) is a protected area in Georgia .
It extends north of the eponymous capital Tbilisi over almost the entire Saguramo Mountains , which are up to 1,800 m high, and the southernmost part of the Cartelian Mountains to the north . The park is mainly located on the territories of the Mzcheta and Tianeti municipalities of the Mzcheta-Mtianeti region , extends to the northern border of the capital region of Tbilisi, in the southeast to the area of the Gardabani municipality of the Lower Cartilia region and in the east on two small sections in the Sagaredscho municipality of the Kakheti region .
The national park was designated in 1973 and is 232.2 km² in size. In the meantime, the largely densely forested area had lost its status as a national park, which was then restored.
The park administration is located in the village of Saguramo at the western end of the park, not far from the city of Mtskheta .
