National parks in Denmark
There are five national parks in Denmark . The Danish national park program is still relatively young. The first national park was established in Thy in 2008. The designation of further national parks is planned. The establishment of the Skjern Å National Park was abandoned in 2012.
The Danish national parks are managed by the nature authority in the Ministry of the Environment .
In addition, the Northeast Greenland National Park has existed in Greenland, which belongs to the Kingdom of Denmark, since 1974 .
