The Spielwigge nature reserve is a 6.5-  hectare nature reserve north of the Spielwigge hamlet in the urban area of Lüdenscheid in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The area was designated as a NSG in 1994. It is east of the federal highway 45 and west of the Versetalsperre .

Area description

The nature reserve is a natural forest complex on the northwest slope of the Berghahn mountain . There is the headwaters of the Ölmühlenbach . Beech and alder damp forests on nutrient-poor soils are located on the north-facing slopes that gently slope towards Ölmühlenbach. A birch-rich alder forest with predominantly medium-sized tree wood grows over a large area on sites that are damp and damp. Alder wet forest is located in a wet area with seepage. Between these damp forests there is a damp area with mixed oak forest. In the south-east of the NSG there is a deadwood- rich grove and beech old wood and on the western edge in a spruce stand there is a spring trickle rich in peat moss. In the peat moss-alder forest areas are u. a. Beech fern , rib fern , star sedge , peat moss and golden maidenhair can be found.
