Neßlbach is a parish village that belongs to the Winzer market in the Lower Bavarian district of Deggendorf . Until April 30, 1978 it formed an independent municipality.

Neßlbach is located near the left bank of the Danube about three kilometers south-east of Winzer, but only about one kilometer north of Hofkirchen on Staatsstrasse 2125.

history

Between Neßlbach and Mühlau, a chert lance tip from the Neolithic Age (4500–1800 BC) was found in 1930 . Celtic traces also indicate an early settlement of the area. The place got its name from the stream of the same name.

The area around Neßlbach belonged to the area that King Heinrich II gave to the Niederaltaich monastery in 1005 . The first documentary mention takes place in 1148, when the Niederaltaich monastery of Pope Eugene III. had the right to the parish of St. Peter and Paul confirmed. As in 1242, the Bavarian Duke Otto II. The castle Flint Mountain inherited, he ertauschte among other things, the place Neßlbach from Niederaltaich Abbey.

On May 23, the Pandur colonel Franz Freiherr von der Trenck came to Neßlbach. On November 22nd, the rectory was ransacked again, with Hungarian hussars cutting off the cook's left hand.

In the year of conscription, 1752, there were 15 properties in Neßlbach. In 1818 Neßlbach became an independent municipality that emerged from the Iggensbach tax district and was based on the old boundaries of the Neßlbach parish. It initially belonged to the Vilshofen Regional Court , was subordinated to the new Hengersberg Regional Court in 1838 and came with this to the Deggendorf District Office in 1862. On November 15, 1846, the community was enlarged to include the hamlet of Wimberg from the Hilgartsberg community .

On March 10, 1903, the place received a post office that was assigned to the teacher Josef Eckl. In 1964, the community Neßlbach consisted of 24 districts. In the course of the regional reform on May 1, 1978, it was incorporated into the Winzer market with 1041 inhabitants and an area of ​​14.58 km².
