The Neckarhochufer nature reserve is located in the municipality of Haßmersheim in the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg .
Characteristics
The protected area was created on December 21, 1979 by ordinance of the Karlsruhe Regional Council with the protected area number 2.047. This regulation was published in the law gazette for Baden-Württemberg on February 29, 1980 and came into force thereafter. The CDDA code is 82224 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .
location
The nature reserve is located directly on the left side of the Neckar northwest of Haßmersheim just before the district of Hochhausen . It is almost completely enclosed by the landscape protection area No. 2.25.025 Neckartal III . The area is in the natural area 128- building land within the natural spatial main unit 12- Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten .
Protection purpose
According to the Protected Area Ordinance, an essential protection purpose is conservation
- a geomorphologically and geologically impressive Neckar bank area in the border area between the landscape formations Odenwald and Kraichgau;
- an important location for a species-rich adhesive forest community;
- a habitat for numerous rare animal species, some of which are threatened, in particular reptiles, insects and birds;
- a part of the landscape in the Neckar-Elz area that is significant in terms of culture and history.
