Neffelbach Association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Neffelbachverband was a water association that had the task of maintaining the Neffelbach in the area of the Düren district between the district boundary near Bessenich ( Euskirchen district ) and Niederbolheim ( Rhein-Erft district ).

The Neffelbach rises at Wollersheim and flows into the Erft after 40.3 km at Kerpen . An association was founded in 1956 to maintain the stream in the Düren district. This foundation was suggested as early as 1936, as the industries in Zülpich and Vettweiß used the brook for their wastewater. This condition was no longer acceptable. These efforts were resumed after the Second World War in 1953. On March 22, 1956, the Neffelbach Association was founded under the chairmanship of the Düren district director Eduard Bierhoff . The management had taken over the town Vettweiß. After the special school for Nörvenich and Vettweiß was founded in Gladbach in the early 1980s, following an agreement between the Vettweiß municipality director Matthias Schick and the Nörvenich municipality director Gerd Bandilla, the administration of the school was taken over by the municipality of Vettweiß and the seat of the Neffelbach Association was relocated to the municipality of Nörvenich.

According to an ordinance of the Upper President of the Rhine Province of December 17, 1935, this watercourse from the road bridge in Embken to the confluence with the Erft is designated as a second-order course.

The maintenance of the brook was incorporated into the Erftverband by the new version of the law on the Erftverband (ErftVG) of January 3, 1986 with effect from January 28, 1993. The Erftverband was already liable for maintenance in front of and behind the area of the Neffelbachverband. The Neffelbach Association then dissolved on March 31, 1993.
