Neil Halstead

Neil Halstead (born October 7, 1970 in Reading , Buckinghamshire , England ) is a British guitarist and singer-songwriter .

Life

Halstead was a founding member of the Shoegaze band Slowdive , which initially existed from 1989 to 1995 and reunited in 2014. Some members of Slowdive founded Mojave 3 in 1995 . This group, whose main singer and guitarist is Halstead, plays a mix of dream pop and folk .

In the years since 2002 Halstead has released three albums under his own name. With this material he also appears internationally as a soloist . In 2013, Sonic Cathedral Recordings released the album Stars Are Our Home under the trio band name "Black Hearted Brother" , which Halstead recorded together with former Seefeel member Mark van Hoen .

Halstead lives and works in Newquay , Cornwall .
