The Neilson Peak (in Chile Monte Lavín , in Argentina Monte Berezosky ) is a 1250 m high mountain on the Black Coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises in the center of the Parmelee massif at the head of the Lehrke Inlet .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it in 1974. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1976 after David R. Neilson, a biologist in the United States Antarctic Research Program at Palmer Station in 1975. The namesake of the Chilean designation is Squadron Leader Alfredo Lavín Ramírez von of the Chilean Air Force, participant in the 4th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1949–1950) and later his country's ambassador to Honduras . In Argentina, the mountain is named after the marine engineer Carlos Berezoski.
