The Nelgesse ( Russian Нельгесе or Нэлгэсэ; also Nelgeche ( Нельгехе ) or Nelgehe from Yakut Нэльгэһэ ) is a 566 km long left tributary of the Adytscha in the river system of the Jana in Siberia ( Russia , Asia ).
The river arises on the eastern flank of the southeastern part of the Verkhoyansk Mountains , which is over 1,900 m high , flows through the Janaplateau in an initially northward, later northeastern direction and finally flows into the Adytscha a little north of the Arctic Circle near the Laso settlement. Near the mouth, the Nelgesse is 65 m wide and 2.2 m deep; the flow velocity is 1.8 m / s, the mean water flow 38.4 m 3 / s.
The catchment area of the Nelgesse covers 15,200 km 2 . It lies entirely on the territory of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) .
The nelgesse freezes from the end of September / October to May, and from December to April it freezes to the bottom.
