Nestor Chergiani (ნესტორ ხერგიანი; born July 20, 1975 in Mestia ) is a Georgian judoka .
Khergiani has been one of the most successful fighters in the world since the late 1990s. In 1999 he won the bronze medal at the Judo World Championships in Birmingham in the category up to 60 kilograms. Two years later at the World Championships in Munich he was fifth.
He celebrated the greatest success of his career at the 2004 Olympic Games , where he was only defeated by the Japanese judo star Tadahiro Nomura and won the silver medal in the super lightweight . In his other two Olympic appearances, he finished 9th in Sydney in 2000 and 13th in Beijing in 2008 .
