Neuburg is an outside guard and a quarter of the city of Winterthur . It belongs to district 6 ( Wülflingen ).
geography
Neuburg is located in the south of the Wülflingen district and is the largest district in the city of Winterthur in terms of area. It covers part of the Dättnauertal up to the beginning of the Dättnauerweiher , a large part of the Chomberg and the Winterthur part of the Rumstal. The Rumstal is traversed by the Steinbach, which flows down from Brütten at the foot of the Rumsberg and leaves the area via the Rumstal. In addition to the name-giving outside watch in Neuburg, the quarter also includes other small settlements.
history
The name Neuburg was transferred from the former nearby Neuburg Castle (today Hoh-Wülflingen Castle ) to the hamlet in the 16th century .
In 1838 a school building was built in Neuburg, which was renovated in 1917/18. In 1922, Neuburg was incorporated into Winterthur along with the rest of Wülflingen. In 1951 the characteristic tower with a clock was added to the school building. The school has not been in operation since the 21st century and the students go to school in Wülflingen.
Culture and leisure
In Neuburg there is a slide festival every two years, where you can slide down the hill on mats on a specially built slide. There is also the Neuburg excursion restaurant in the village.
The Sculpture Symposium Winterthur took place in Weiertal in 2009.
Transport links
