Neuekrug forms, together with the village Hahausen in the northwest and a few kilometers westerly Bauernsiedlung Ödishausen the community Hahausen , which in turn to Samtgemeinde Lutter am Barenberge heard in the district of Goslar. Neuekrug is located near the Innerste on the northwestern edge of the Harz Mountains and has a branch of the Harz Club , which is dedicated to nature conservation and hiking.

history

In the vicinity of the current village of Neuekrug there was a glassworks documented between the 14th and 15th centuries and a slate quarry that was in operation between 1100 and 1400. Neuekrug was created in 1752 as a stopover on a road to Goslar after the foundation permit was granted on July 28, 1752. A settlement of further residents took place from 1785. In 1847, Neue-Krug is mentioned as an inn not far from Hahausen. At that time, 18 residents lived in three apartments.

Neuekrug is on the federal highway 82 , which in turn leads to the A 7 near Seesen and Goslar and from there to the A 369 near Bad Harzburg . The Neuekrug-Hahausen-Goslar railway also runs past Neuekrug .
