The joint municipality of Lutter am Barenberge is a joint municipality in the district of Goslar in south-eastern Lower Saxony . Three municipalities have come together in it to carry out their administrative business. The administrative center of the velvet is the stain Lutter am Barenberge .
On November 1, 2021, the Lutter am Barenberge community will merge with the city of Langelsheim .

Geographical location
The integrated community Lutter am Barenberge is located in the Harz foreland at an average altitude of 180 m above sea level and is the northwestern part of the district of Goslar.
Expansion of the total municipality area
The entire municipality extends over 8 km in an east-west direction and over 15 km in a north-east-south-west direction.
Joint community structure
In addition to its administrative headquarters, the area of Lutter am Barenberge with the districts of Lutter am Barenberge, Nauen and Ostlutter, the municipality also includes the communities of Hahausen and Wallmoden with the districts of Alt Wallmoden, Bodenstein and Neuwallmoden.
Neighboring communities
The combined municipality borders directly on the district of Hildesheim (communities Lamspringe and Bockenem ) in the west and the independent city of Salzgitter in the north. In the east it borders on Liebenburg and the city of Langelsheim , in the south on the non-parish Harz (district of Goslar) and in the south-west on the city of Seesen .

Joint council
The Lutter am Barenberge joint council consists of 14 councilors and councilors. This is the specified number for a collective municipality with a population between 3,001 and 5,000 inhabitants. The 14 council members are elected for five years each by local elections. The current term of office begins on November 1, 2016 and ends on October 31, 2021. The full-time joint mayor is also entitled to vote in the joint municipal council.
