Neuendorf is a former municipality in Thuringia and is now part of the Witzelroda district of the Moorgrund municipality in the Wartburg district .

Neuendorf is located immediately west of Witzelroda, about two kilometers northeast of the city of Bad Salzungen .
history
Neuendorf was first mentioned in a document in 1330 with the neighboring villages of Gräfendorf and Nitzendorf. Like them, he belonged first to the monastery office of Allendorf, later to the office of Salzungen . From 1680 the place belonged to the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen and from 1920 to the Free State of Thuringia .
On July 1, 1950, Neuendorf was incorporated into Witzelroda.
