Neuenhof is a location in the east of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The location is at an altitude of 217  m above sea level. NHN in the east of the Fleute residential area on Schwelmer Strasse in the Langerfeld-Beyenburg district, right on the Schwelm city ​​limits . The name Neuenhof is mostly no longer in the minds of the population as an independent name for this location, the original residential area has merged into the closed residential and commercial development along Schwelmer Straße .

Neighboring locations, courtyards and living spaces are Röttgen , Hölkesöhde , Siepen , Röckebecke and the Schwelmer locations Scharwacht , Köttchen and Auf'm Hagen . The Schwelmer Rundweg leads past the place.

Etymology and history

The place is marked on the map of the municipality Langerfeld from 1825 and on the Prussian first recording from 1840/44 as Am neue Hofe and on the Wuppertal city map from 1930 as Neuenhof . In the 19th century, Neuenhof belonged to the rural community of Langerfeld in the district of Hagen (until 1887) and the district of Schwelm (from 1887), which formed its own office and was incorporated into the town of Barmen , today a district of Wuppertal, on August 5, 1922 .

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Westphalia from 1887 two houses with 18 inhabitants are given. The place is called Neuenhof at the time .

There was a dairy near the place until the first half of the 20th century .
