The New Sydekum is a listed building in the old town of Hann. Münden in southern Lower Saxony , which is now used as a mosque . It is not to be confused with the old Sydekum in the northwest of the medieval city fortifications of Münden .

The innkeeper Andreas Röhrig had the Neue Sydekum built as a hotel in 1783 after the demolition of four residential buildings on the city wall . He took the name Sydekum from the old Sydekum. The three-storey building with 11 axes characterizes the bank view due to its location on the Werra . On the bank side, the building has a hexagonal central building that pushes out of the facade and carries a roof hood . On the street side, the middle three building axes have a raised risalit with a gable .

In his Hotel Neues Sydekum, the owner Andreas Röhrig had music concerts and theater performances performed. Two events have come down to us from 1815. In 1821 he gave up the hotel and in 1844 another change of ownership took place. From 1849 a citizens' club called the Sydekum Society used the building for cultural events until it was dissolved in 1917. It included respected local people. Inside the building, a ballroom for concerts and theater performances was built in 1849 with classicist shapes, which the painter Adolph Northen was involved in painting .

From 1922 the building served as a meeting room for the local Methodist congregation, which had become inactive in the 1990s. The local Muslim community acquired the historic building in 2000 and converted it into a mosque. It is the only listed mosque in Lower Saxony.
