In 2010, the Central Office for Combating Unfair Competition took legal action against the designation of organic mineral water. However, the Federal Court of Justice ruled in 2012 that organic mineral water is permitted as a sales name. Lammsbräu warned Danone in November 2018 for misleading marketing of Volvic as organic mineral water . Lammsbräu made z. B. does not adequately protect the environment and accuses the company of greenwashing .

production

  • Raw materials are of organic quality and mainly come from the region. The company cooperates with around 100 farmers who jointly cultivated an area of 4,650 hectares in 2012.
  • The hops come from the Spalter and Hersbrucker Land. In contrast to today's more common hop powder or hop extract, it is processed in whole cones. So no ingredients should be lost.
  • The company produces its own malt, which gives the master brewers more control over taste nuances and colors.

distribution

The products are available in organic food stores, in specialist beverage markets and in restaurants. The organic beers and organic soft drinks are available throughout Germany and in individual European countries.

criticism

In order to alleviate esoteric concerns of certain customers, barcodes of the goods were provided with an additional horizontal line. The line was replaced with the outline of a lamb in October 2018.
