The Neustädter Wache is a listed gatehouse in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

The building is located at the address Schloßberg 1a directly at the entrance to the Quedlinburger Schlossberg , on its northwest side.

Architecture and history

The single - storey half-timbered house was built on a high sandstone base according to a building inscription in 1726, according to other information in 1728 . The building is registered as a gatehouse in the Quedlinburg monument register. On the north side facing the stairway to the castle there are fluted wooden columns in a Doric order , which give this long side of the building a portico-like appearance.
