The house Schloßberg 2 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located southwest of the Quedlinburger Schloßberg at the confluence of the street Schloßberg on the Mühlenstraße and represents the southern end of the row of houses. The house is listed in the Quedlinburg monument register and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site .

Architecture and history

The two-storey half - timbered house was built by the carpenter Andreas Rühle according to a building inscription in 1688 . The inscription M. ANDREAS RUHLE ZIMMERMAN with a coat of arms refers to him . With its wide front, the building faces east towards the Schlossberg. The south gable forms the end of Mühlenstraße. Pyramid beam heads can be found on the half-timbered facade of the residential building . The threshold is profiled.

On the sloping south-east corner of the house there is a memorial plaque that reminds of the cattle gate that originally belonged to the Quedlinburg city fortifications .
