The Neutorplatz is one of the great places in Dinslaken and it lies in the eastern part of Dinslakener downtown.

history

A cattle market had been located on Neutorplatz since 1884 and existed in Dinslaken for many years.

For reasons of hygiene, the city had to build a permanent building. It fulfilled this requirement on Hünxer Straße, where Pintsch Bamag has been located since 1947 . The fall in the number of animals traded there could not be prevented and the Dinslaken cattle market lost its importance. not least because the Jewish cattle traders and their families from all over Germany and from Dinslaken were driven, deported and killed. The Hertie department store was built in the post-war period . The majority served as a parking lot. Overall, the place had a poor quality of stay.

In 2014 the Neutor Galerie was opened as a new shopping center and the Neutorplatz was also structurally redesigned with a new glass pavilion with a bakery and confectionery branch and a cafe. In the course of the construction of the Neutor Galerie, Neutorplatz was converted into an inner-city square with a high quality of stay. Due to its new open design, the square can be used for markets, city festivals and similar events.

Transport links

From 1914 to 1958, the route of the tram lines line 17 Dinslaken Bf - Hiesfeld and line 18 Dinslaken Bf - Lohberg passed directly at Neutorplatz.

Currently the transport connections with the bus route 17 Dinslaken-Oberlohberg Waldfriedhof - Hiesfeld - Dinslaken Bf - Dinslakener Bruch and with the bus route 19 from Dinslaken-Lohberg - Dinslaken Bf - Averbruch via Heinrich-Nottebaum-Straße are operated by NIAG .
