The Neuwernsdorfer water divider (also called Flöha water divider ) was a weir built in 1882 for the regulated extraction of water from the Flöha , the mining in the area via the 47 km long upper water supply of the Freiberg Revierwasserlaufanstalt , a system of artificial ditches , roses and artificial ponds Brand-Erbisdorf was made available as impact water . When the Rauschenbach dam went into operation in 1968, it disappeared in the dammed water.

history

Plans to use the Flöha as additional impact water for the Freiberg area existed as early as the 17th century. These were intensively promoted from the second half of the 19th century and reached the Flöha area around 1860. After about 20 years of legal disputes with residents of the Flöha (especially the water-intensive spinning mills and sawmills ) about the water usage rights, a settlement was reached in 1879, which  guaranteed the residents at least 34 m 3 of water / min. This left the Freiberg mining industry only with the use of floods, which was sufficient because of the numerous ponds as storage space . After the decline of Freiberg mining between 1899 and 1913, its importance declined. The Neuwernsdorfer water divider has been located in the reservoir of the Rauschenbachtalsperre since 1968 ( 50 ° 42 ′ 17 ″  N , 13 ° 31 ′ 15 ″  E ).
