career

The Yugoslav striker played mainly in the Croatian part of the country for the clubs NK Metalac Osijek , NK Zagreb , NK Dinamo Vinkovci and NK Jedinstvo Bihać before he came to Germany in 1984 and initially played for Rot-Weiss Essen . With Essen he was in the 1984/85 season champion of the Oberliga Nordrhein - Rudić scored 21 goals - but in the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga he failed with the club. The attacker was then committed by the league competitor 1. FC Bocholt . With the season final rank three in 1985/86, however, the goal of promotion was also missed. In 1986 Rudić moved from Bocholt's upper division to the 2nd Bundesliga for KSV Hessen Kassel . After only three missions (one goal) at the traditional Hessian club, he joined the second division newcomer SSV Ulm 1846 in the first half of the 1986/87 season . With nine goals Rudić was involved in the relegation of Ulm. In the following season he came to the side of striker Waldemar Steubing and the young Uwe Spies on 23 missions and five goals, but he could not prevent the relegation of SSV Ulm. In the 1988/89 season Neven Rudić played in Austria for Austria Klagenfurt .
