New Blood - Death in London (original title: New Blood ) is a British crime - television series . The series was developed by Anthony Horowitz and has been produced by Eleventh Hour Films since 2016.

The two young investigators Stefan Kowolski and Arrash “Rash” Sayyad both work for the London police in different departments. Stefan specializes in cases of fraud in the Serious Fraud Office , while Rash is a trainee detective constable (TDC).
Both men are at the beginning of their careers. They are held back by their older colleagues and superiors, their employment relationships are insecure. While Stefan is employed undercover as a student assistant, construction worker or chauffeur, Rash is regularly under-challenged by his tasks. He tries to impress his bosses with zeal and intelligence, and thereby repeatedly makes himself unpopular.
Stefan meets Rash and his sister Leila at a sporting event. Stefan starts a conversation with Rash, and the two exchange ideas about their cases. They discover that their cases are connected and that they are both desperately looking for housing.
They become friends and secretly investigate a case of subsidy fraud in the public health system.
Stefan falls in love with Leila, but doesn't get beyond a flirt in the first season. With a lot of luck and outside help, Stefan and Rash are awarded the contract for an apartment in one of the spectacular glass palaces in the new residential area.

The first season aired on BBC One between June 9 and July 7, 2016 . The episodes were each available a week earlier on the BBC iPlayer. The series was followed by an average of 4 million viewers. One case dragged on for 2 to 3 episodes.
Germany
In Germany, ZDF first broadcast the TV series between August 13 and 27, 2017. In contrast to the British broadcast, the German version cut the series into three long episodes of 100 to 120 minutes each dealing with one case. The first season has been available on DVD and Blu-ray since August 28, 2017.
