Nina Maria Lindner alias NiMa Lindner (* January 1981 ) is a German singer-songwriter , guitarist and drummer from the Ruhr area . She is traveling both as a solo artist and with a band. Her style moves in the area of alternative rock , pop , independent and z. T. experimental structures.

Life

Lindner is a trained nurse and social worker. She has been making music since she was 15 and worked for a number of years in various band projects as a guitarist, singer and / or drummer. On March 16, 2012 she met the drummer Ray Luzier ( KoRn ) in his tour bus before the concert in Offenbach, one of her role models, and was there for his soundcheck. In 2013 she recorded the drum tracks for the band DOC for the album Sweet dykes and rotten bikers, which was released the following year, and sang the song You might have in the Spacelab recording studio in Oedt.

Since the end of 2013 she has been on stage solo as a singer-songwriter. Early 2014 she released her first acoustic demo album Need some voice under the label Rockwerk Records, which received them on their own and be the first test run was used for recording. In January 2015 the single Follow your dreams followed , which served as a single release for the album FOLLOW , which was released in 2016 .

In March 2015 she expanded her solo project; since then NiMa Lindner has also appeared as a band. The band played the first concert at the Ütti-Rockt Festival in the summer of 2015 in front of around 1,500 spectators at Uettelsheimer See in Duisburg . FOLLOW recorded NiMa Lindner in 2015 together with the Canadian bassist Rik Born and the drummer Marius Lamm in the CKB Recording Studio in Essen. FOLLOW was published at the end of March 2016 .

In December 2015 NiMa Lindner was nominated by the 33rd German Rock and Pop Prize and the German Pop Foundation for the final in the Singer category and was also awarded first place for Best Alternative Singer 2015 . Her song Fight for took third place as Best Alternative Song 2015 . At the turn of the year 2015/2016 she released another single, Learn to fly , on which she collaborated with the Klangwelt Studio Essen / Ruhrrekorder for the vocal recording, mixing and mastering. In October 2016, the single Colors passing by was released , which was created in collaboration with the same studio.

In April 2016 NiMa Lindner won the Rockin 'Rooster Club e. V. and thus secured a slot at the Pfingstrausch Festival in Haan. In the same month she played as the opening act for the new wave sandpaper rock band Pandora's Bliss in Cologne's Blue Shell.

In the summer of 2016 NiMa Lindner changed the line-up of her band members. In September 2016 her song Fight for was presented in the Ruhrcharts as well as on WDR 2 in the program Made in Germany . Fight for stayed in the Ruhr charts for three weeks and went from number 27 to 25 in the third week.

In 2016 NiMa Lindner was nominated again for the final of the 34th German Rock and Pop Prize and was on stage in the Siegerlandhalle in Siegen on December 10th in the categories Singer Songwriter and Rock / Alternative . There she also received awards for Best Alternative Album 2016 and for her song Memories as Best Alternative Song 2016 .

In autumn 2017 NiMa Lindner devoted herself more intensively to her side projects as a drummer. She played the drum tracks for Lupa Covella's new album.

After NiMa Lindner had played a total of twenty concerts with a new line-up, she announced a creative break in late summer 2018 to write new songs. In April 2020 their second album "The truth behind" was released.
