Nicco

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nicco (real name Nick Constantine Maniatty ) is an American singer and songwriter who became known through his collaboration with Darius & Finlay .

Career

Life and musical beginnings

Nicco was already heavily influenced by reggae music at the age of ten when he lived with his family in St. John, US Virgin Islands. Myspace brought Nicco to the European dance-electro scene for the first time. He performed together with various hobby DJs in many nightclubs and got numerous fans and shortly afterwards was already working on his own songs.

Musical breakthrough

In 2008 the Polish DJ and producer Robert M noticed him and recorded the two songs Can't Slow Down with him , which became Nicco's first official single, and a little later dancehall track . However, both singles were rather minor successes. On January 2, 2009 the single When We Dance was released by him, DJ Pedro and Stephan M *, who came from Miami Beach .

Since spring 2009, followed by countless cooperation with the DJ - Duo Darius & Finlay , with whom he had his first big success. Popular songs such as Do It All Night , Rock to the Beat , Till Morning or Hold On , which also made it into the upper half of the Austrian and German single charts , appeared. At the end of 2010, the song Rock to the Beat was number 2 in the annual dance charts.

In 2011 he released his first own single Downpour , which did not make it into the charts. Even with Darius & Finlay Nicco received for the single destination to award most played song of 2009 and were nominated for the Austrian Award Best Artist in 2010 and Best New Comer 2010 . Nicco alone received an award for Best Vocalist 2010 in Poland.

2012-present: Record deal with Sony Music

He now works for the Sony Music label in the commercial pop / dance widget category for mainstream .

On May 11, 2012, a 2k12 (new recording in 2012) version of the song Do It All Night was released . In this version new sounds and a rap art from Carlprit were installed. Do It All Night 2k12 entered the charts in Germany at number 34, in Austria at number 21 and in Switzerland at number 14. Only one week later, on May 18, 2012, the song Party Shaker was released , which he recorded with the German dance project RIO . After just a few hours, the single reached number 3 in the iTunes charts. The song also entered the top 10 of the single charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2013, the official music video was recognized as the most-clicked German music video of all time.

Later in 2012 another single with Darius & Finlay was released , it was titled Get Up and climbed to number 84 in Germany and in Austria even into the top 10 of the charts. No placement was achieved in Switzerland. Also in October, in collaboration with Tom Mountain, the single Run It Back was released , which was top 10 in all dance charts and had over a million views on Youtube within a short time.

In the summer of 2013 Darius & Finlay's album Summer Is Here was released on which he sang several songs, mostly in collaboration with Jai Matt. From this, the song Get Away , which he sung and which became a hit in Germany and Austria, was extracted. Also together with Jai Matt and the DJ LAR5 he released the title Jump This Party on August 2, 2013 and the song Ibiza with Ribellu . At the end of August 2013, the title Into the Light was released , in collaboration with the rapper Dank via the record label Planet Punk Music and RLS Productions . The official music video was released in May 2013. We know of this song, especially a hands-up version, which is available on compilations such as Future-Trance, for example.

In early September 2013, Nicco released the music video of his new song Baila , which was produced by DJ and producer Kriss Raize. The track Rockstars was released in 2014 . The track was recorded with the hands-up DJs DJ Gollum and Empire One, but the song can rather be classified into the Melbourne Bounce genre, which many fans initially criticized. At the same time as the single was released, a hands-up version produced by DJ Gollum and Empire One was also released. In addition, a version of the house DJ Max K. was used on many samplers such as Club Sounds or Urban Dance . In November 2014 the single Remember followed with the German DJ and producer Chris Deelay.

After no joint single with Darius & Finlay was released since summer 2014, they released the song Firestarter together in April 2015 . The progressive house song entered the Austrian iTunes charts shortly after its release. In addition to the original version, there was also a remix by DJ Selecta, who had already produced a successful mix of the track Destination .
