Semitoo (2019)

Semitoo (born August 13, 1981 ; real name Patrick John) is a German musician & music producer in the field of commercial electronic club music. His style can be classified in the genre of dance-pop / house, with some of his publications also falling into the areas of deep house & electro. He lives and works in Mallorca, runs a recording studio there and owns his own record label Mitoomusic.

Life

John was born in Freital, but grew up near Dresden and took piano lessons at the age of 10. Electronic music has played an important role since his early youth, where he performed as a DJ at private parties and smaller events. He quickly became interested in music production, attended courses, began to build his own studio in 1997 and initially produced for a few small solo projects.

In 2013 he began to regularly publish titles himself under the pseudonym Semitoo . He recorded the first song All I Need with the singer Jules Palmer. The follow-up single Weekend To Begin was released in February 2014 on the record label Sounds United Records and was able to enter numerous dance charts a short time later. These included top 20 placements in the official German dance charts, the top 50 dance charts and 44 house.

Cooperation with Marc Korn

In summer 2014 he released the single Holiday with the Austrian music producer Markus Kornschober under the project name Semitoo & Marc Korn , in collaboration with CvB and Orry Jackson. The vocals of the song come from the German studio singer Caroline von Brünken , known as the singer of the songs Fiesta and Here We Go (Allez Allez) by Carlprit and the rapper and singer Orry Jackson, known through his participation in The Voice of Germany 2012. Remixes by Andre Lacoure & Klubbingman and RainDropz! completed the release in the areas of progressive house and hands up .

Collaboration with Nicco (Head Roc Music)

In the summer of 2017, this time he got reinforcements from the USA. In a team with the American singer & songwriter Nicco , the new dance anthem Shadows was created . In February 2018, One Kiss was the second collaboration with Head Roc Music. The Bodybangers contributed a club-compatible remix to the original in deep house style . The single With You , released in May 2018, was not only co-written by Nicco , but also sung. Here, too, the package was supplemented by remixes by Klaas Gerling and the Austrian DJ Selecta .

Change of style

With the single "Temporary" released in October 2018, Semitoo moved stylistically a good bit away from the classic dance sound he had played in his previous releases. "Temporary" breaks away from the 4-to-the-floor beat and shines in the finest dance-pop garb. A touch of future pop garnishes the track and rounds it off. The highlight of the single are the vocals. They were recorded by a well-known singer who has worked with Tiesto, Showtek, Blasterjaxx and many other star acts. A club suitable "Semitoo & Marc Korn Remix" was released on November 23rd. also via Planet Punk Music.

With "Heaven" Semitoo released a follow-up single in a similar style in 2019. The fantastically catchy dance pop song was released on April 5th and was his first release for the Sony Music Entertainment label RCA Records , which signed the successful producer in February 2019.

Record label

After he released his debut single "All I Need" in 2013 on his own record label Mitoomusic and the follow-up single " Weekend To Begin" on Sounds United Records , he was signed in 2014 by the German independent dance label Planet Punk Music . Since then, his songs have also appeared on the Spanish major dance label Blanco y Negro Music . He signed with Sony Music Entertainment in 2019.
