Klaas (* 3. January 1981 in Cologne ) is a German House - DJ and music producer , through the production of the 2008 published remix of the song Infinity famous nationally.

Life

Gerling initially played drums in various local bands. In 2006 he produced his first single Slip & Slide with Micha Moor . Later, two of his releases, Get Twisted and Confession , reached the top 5 of the German dance charts. Gerling also works as a remixer. Including for the single Goodbye to Yesterday by No Angels as well as remixes for Michael Mind Project , Global Deejays and DJ Antoine . His remix for Micha Moors Space stayed at number 1 for several weeks, and the third single, The Way , released in 2007, entered the German dance charts at number 2.

In 2008 he remixed Infinity from Guru Josh and reached number 4 in the singles charts in Germany. In Belgium , France and Poland , she even placed first. With his Infinity Remix, Klaas caused a sensation internationally. As the producer of the single, he received several gold and silver awards in Germany, Great Britain, Denmark and Norway. With 38 million views within six months, the official music video on YouTube ranks among the top 45 of the best rated and even among the top 3 of the most popular videos.

His publication Make You Feel was placed in the top 10 of the DDC several weeks after it was published. Klaas Gerling also completed a remix for the world hit I Like to Move It , which was released on Defected Rec. In autumn 2008. With a remix of the song What Is Love by the Trinidad and Tobago rapper Haddaway he reached the official single charts of Germany and Austria for the first time. He used the instrumental of the remix for Infinity one more time in 2010, for the track How Does It Feel , which he did not publish but passed on to the Michael Mind Project . Shortly afterwards, the song Freak appeared in collaboration with the DJ duo Bodybangers and the singer Victoria Kern . The song became another success and entered the singles charts of several countries.

After he had great success in the club scene with his own songs such as Do What You Do and Hurt Will End as well as with remixes for, among others, the songs Only One or Ready or Not , he switched from the genre house to the currently very popular big room . He successfully entered this genre with the track Party Like We're Animals . Then in 2014 he formed the Klaas & Mazza project together with the Swiss DJ Mazza. Her debut single, entitled Ready , was released in the summer of 2014 and quickly gained popularity. The song was promoted in particular by the Dutch DJ duo Showtek . The successor single Here We Go became an even bigger success and made the duo known outside of Germany. The big room track was played by DJs Hardwell , Blasterjaxx and in the form of a mash-up with Find Tomorrow (Ocarina) by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike .

In 2015 Klaas started with the solo single Calavera . This is also based on an Electro-House style, whereby the drop can be classified much more in the Melbourne Bounce genre. In March, two more songs were released as a single. For one, the third joint single with Mazza. It is titled Go For It and, like Here We Go, was published on “You Love Dance”. A solo single called I Don't Care was also released at the same time . In contrast to his previous tracks, the style is based on a future house beat.

In 2017 he made his style more commercial and also shaped by the future house. It started with the song Close To You , which received around 10 million views on Spotify. Love Your Life and Big Words followed in a similar style.

Ten years after his remake of Infinity , he released another edit in 2018 to a version of the song remixed by Sean Finn. This also received strong support and was able to advance to number 10 on the German iTunes charts.

At the beginning of 2019 he reached number 1 in the US Billboard Dance Club Songs and topped the German DJ Charts (DDP) with a remake of the song I've Been Thinking About You , which was created through a collaboration with Londonbeat . At the same time, the single Ok Without You was released , which reached 20 million views on YouTube after 11 months.

In 2019 he worked with the Belgian DJane MATTN , which resulted in a remake of the song Children by Robert Miles from 1995.
