history

Sounds United Records was founded on January 1st, 2010 by Dieter Stemmer. From mid- 1985 Stemmer worked as A&R Manager for Rush Records and BCM Records Label , the first independent record label for dance music in Germany. With his collaboration, artists such as BVSMP , Francesco Napoli , Bruce & Bongo landed top 10 hits in Germany. With the US label DJ-International , which specialized in house music, BCM brought house music to Europe with artists such as Tyree Cooper , Farley Jackmaster Funk, Joe Smooth and Fast Eddie . In 1989 Stemmer organized the three-day Summer Dance Festival in Berlin's Tempodrom , where the artists EPMD , De La Soul , Stetasonic, Queen Latifah , but also Die Krupps , Village People and the soul legend Bobby Womack were presented, all of whom were presented at the Label BCM were under contract.

On January 1, 1990, Stemmer started his own record label Dance Streets Records , with which artists such as Interactive , Bass Bumpers , Daisy Dee , TNN and Doop were under contract. In addition to Dance Street Records, he founded the record label House Nation in 1995 , which celebrated great, worldwide success with artists such as Red 5 , 666 , Zhi-Vago , Sequential One , Klubbheads , Duke, Karmah and Outhere Brothers and had a decisive influence on the development of the Performed house and electronic dance music in Europe.

In addition to dance music, a hit and party label was founded in 1997 with Ladyland Records , whereby artists such as Big Brother Jürgen , Willi Herren and Die Lollies were successfully established alongside the discovery of Mickie Krause (with the single Anita ). For Mickie Krause this was the start of his career. Dance Street and House Nation Records were sold to ZYX Music in 2003 , but as Head Of A&R Stemmer still steered the fate of the labels and was solely responsible for acquiring artists and marketing them. The most successful performers were the nephews of Michael Jackson's 3T , CC Catch , but the new albums by Smokie , Amanda Lear and Boyz II Men were also released there at the time.

On January 1, 2010, Stemmer finally re-founded his own record label Sounds United Records , which continues to specialize in all areas of electronic dance music and has already successfully established itself. In cooperation with ZYX Music, selected titles from Sounds United Records appear at irregular intervals on the compilations published by the same publisher .
