3T is an American R & B - Pop - band consisting of the three brothers Tariano Adaryll "Taj" Jackson II (born August 4, 1973 in Los Angeles, California ), Taryll Jackson * 8 (August 1975 in Los Angeles, California ) and Tito Joe "TJ" Jackson (born July 16, 1978 in Los Angeles, California). They are the sons of Tito Jackson and thus the nephews of Michael and Janet Jackson .

Private life

Her mother, Delores "Dee Dee" Martes Jackson, ensured 3T had a relatively normal childhood, with birthday parties, baseball, and family outings. The happiness of the family came to an abrupt end in 1994, when Delores Martes Jackson drowned in the swimming pool of her then partner at the age of only 39. TJ was 16 years old at the time, Taryll was 19 years old, and Taj was 21 years old.

The investigators - unlike the family - assumed a tragic accident and initially acquitted Delores Martes Jackson's partner, businessman Donald Bohana. However, the sons were able to have the proceedings resumed. In it, the prosecution and court followed their reasoning, and so in 1998 Donald Bohana was sentenced to 15 years in prison for conditional murder.

TJ Jackson has been married to Frances Jackson (born Casey, * 1975) since 2007 and has three children with her: son Royal (* October 23, 1999) and daughters Dee Dee (* March 20, 2008) and Jordan (* 30 November 2010). TJ is also the stepfather of Sage (* 1990) and Alexia "Lexci" (* 1993), his wife's children from a previous relationship.

Taryll Jackson is in a relationship with Breana Cabral (* 1980) and has two sons with her: Bryce Connor (* February 20, 2008) and Adren Michael (* February 17, 2011).

Taj Jackson is engaged to the Brazilian Thayana Sco (* 1984) from T-Rio. The two have no children (yet).

The three brothers always had a very close and loving relationship with their uncle Michael Jackson. He was like a third parent to her. The three also expressed their love for their uncle in the program for Michael Jackson's funeral service. In it wrote z. B. TJ: "You taught me to smile. You taught me to dream. You taught me to live. Uncle Michael, I will always remember our special moments and blissful times. I love you so much".

Band history

Even as young children, Taj, Taryll and TJ Jackson appeared on television and on stage along with their famous father, uncles and aunts. They began to imitate the Jackson 5 at an early age , learning to play instruments and write songs themselves. In 1985 - TJ was 7, Taryll 10 and Taj 12 - they were offered a recording deal. They refused because they wanted to enjoy their childhood first and finish school.

3T was first heard in 1992 on the soundtrack to the mini-series The Jacksons - An American Dream with its self-written title You Are the Ones . After participation in the Free Willy - Soundtrack with 1993 Did not Mean to Hurt You and the published on the soundtrack for the sequel What Will It Take it brought in 1995 their first album Brotherhood on the market. The album was particularly successful in Europe. The singles "Anything", 24/7 , Why , I Need You , Tease Me and Gotta Be You all became hits in Europe. They sang the track Why (written by Babyface ) with their uncle Michael Jackson, who originally wanted to publish this song on his own album, but then gave it to his favorite nephew.

In 1996 3T were the most successful band in Europe in terms of sales after the Spice Girls. A European tour took the three young Jacksons to Germany in 1998.

Until 1999, she worked on various projects (among other things they were heading for the Men-in-Black - Soundtrack to a song in), and on their second album, which Déjà Vu could mean. Due to problems with their record company Sony Music at the time , this could not be released and when they signed with the music division of TF1 in 2004 , the old recordings remained with Sony and were lost. Nevertheless, they released a new album Identity that same year . Of the two singles from it, only Stuck on You (a cover of the Lionel Richie classic) was released in Germany , Sex Appeal hit record stores in France , Switzerland and the Netherlands . 3T have been most successful so far in Great Britain and France.

TJ and Taryll Jackson also wrote and produced songs for a variety of other artists over the years, including Lindsay Lohan and her aunt Janet Jackson.

3T appeared on stage at the 52nd Grammy Awards on January 31, 2010 to support their cousin Prince and Paris Jackson as they accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of their father, Michael Jackson.

On October 8, 2011, 3T performed at the Michael Forever - The Tribute Concert at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff . They sang the song Heartbreak Hotel ( aka This Place Hotel ) by The Jacksons and their own hit single Why , which was originally recorded as a duet with Michael Jackson for their album Brotherhood . At the end of the performance of Why , the three brothers could not suppress their grief for their uncle Michael Jackson and burst into tears on stage.

Taryll Jackson released two solo EPs in 2012: Undeniable and My Life Without You .

3T have been back in the studio together since 2012 and are working on a new album. On April 1, 2013, the three brothers published an excerpt of a new song on their homepage on their birthday in memory of their mother who was murdered in 1994.
