Nice and Friendly (Original title: Nice and Friendly , German: Nice friendly ) is an American film comedy of Charlie Chaplin from the year 1922nd

action

There isn't really a plot in Nice and Friendly as it was only filmed as a wedding present for Lord and Lady Mountbatten. In the film you can see that Lady Mountbatten wears a precious pearl necklace that crooks want to steal. Charlie Chaplin is now called, and although he is wearing his tramp costume, he chases the crooks with a wooden mallet, which suddenly appears in his hand. In the end, all the crooks lie unconscious on the lawn.

Individual evidence

  1. The role specification “villain” as well as the characterization of the film as “[i] mprovisierter Sketch” in Robinson's filmography, No. 68a Nice and Friendly . In: David Robinson: Chaplin. His life. His art. Translated from the English by Brigitte Mentz and Matthias Müller. Diogenes, Zurich 1989 [ Chaplin. His Live and Art . London 1985], ISBN 3-257-01801-1 , pp. 730-809, here 788f. suggest that Robinson never saw the film. The statement that the film "was never shown in public" should have been correct in 1985.
