action
There isn't really a plot in Nice and Friendly as it was only filmed as a wedding present for Lord and Lady Mountbatten. In the film you can see that Lady Mountbatten wears a precious pearl necklace that crooks want to steal. Charlie Chaplin is now called, and although he is wearing his tramp costume, he chases the crooks with a wooden mallet, which suddenly appears in his hand. In the end, all the crooks lie unconscious on the lawn.

Individual evidence
- ↑ The role specification “villain” as well as the characterization of the film as “[i] mprovisierter Sketch” in Robinson's filmography, No. 68a Nice and Friendly . In: David Robinson: Chaplin. His life. His art. Translated from the English by Brigitte Mentz and Matthias Müller. Diogenes, Zurich 1989 [ Chaplin. His Live and Art . London 1985], ISBN 3-257-01801-1 , pp. 730-809, here 788f. suggest that Robinson never saw the film. The statement that the film "was never shown in public" should have been correct in 1985.
