Nicholas Bishop (born September 19, 1973 in Swindon , Wiltshire ) is an Australian actor of English origin.

Life

Born in Swindon, Wiltshire, England, he moved to Canberra with his parents and older brother when he was six months old . His father was a former Australian Army officer and diplomat. In 1996 he graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art .

From 2004 to 2007 he played the role of Detective Peter Baker in the award-winning Australian soap opera Home and Away . From 2011 to 2012 he could be seen as Peter Dunlop in the ABC television series Body of Proof as a coroner who had to quit the police force after a gunshot wound. In the 5th season of the US television series Covert Affairs (which appeared in Germany in 2015), he played the former soldier Ryan McQuaid , who became a billionaire by founding a private security company and developed a complex relationship with the leading actress Annie Walker.

Bishop lives in West Hollywood with his partner Claire Smith and their two children (born 2006 and 2009).
