Nicholas Brooks (special effects artist)

Nicholas Brooks (born May 20, 1964 in London , England ) is a British special effects artist and VFX supervisor .

Life

Brooks began his special effects career in 1989 with the Computer Film Company (CFC) in Soho , where he worked on the war film Memphis Belle . He later started his own business and has been working as a freelancer ever since . He was in numerous Hollywood - blockbusters such as Fight Club , Matrix and delusion involved. In 2003 he was the scriptwriter , director and producer of the 18-minute short film Ozone .

In 1999 , he and Joel Hynek , Kevin Scott Mack and Stuart Robertson received the Oscar for Best Visual Effects for Beyond the Horizon . They also received an OFTA Film Award. In 2004 he was awarded the Primetime Emmy for special effects in the television film Dream Keeper .
