Nicolas Charlier (* 1989 in Belgium ) is a French drummer of modern jazz .

Charlier, who comes from a family of musicians, received his first drum lessons at the age of nine. In 1999 he moved to France, where he was taught by Didier Lockwood at the Center des Musiques Didier Lockwood . There he met Thomas and David Enhco as well as Benoît Berthe . With them belonged to the Little Jazz Band , with whom he played many concerts. At the age of twelve he also learned the double bass (also classical lessons); Due to his interest in harmonies, he decided at the age of 15 to take piano lessons as well. Since 2006, he has accompanied Didier Lockwood on numerous occasions and also toured with him in Eastern Europe, China and North America.

He also played in Berthe's Back Quartet and the JP Raillot Quartet as well as in Thomas Enhco's trio , with whom he also performed at the Ottawa Jazz Festival . In November 2014 he performed at the Festival Vive le Jazz with Sebastian Sternal and Pierre Perchaud in Germany. In the field of jazz he was involved in seven recording sessions between 2007 and 2014.
