Nichole Mercedes Galicia (born March 27, 1975 in Panama City ) is an American actress and model of Panamanian descent who gained fame primarily for the role of Sheba from Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained .

life and career

Nichole Galicia was born in Panama City and later grew up in New York City . After entering the modeling business, she was booked for campaigns for the PepsiCo brands as well as for magazines such as The Gap , Elle and Vogue . She entered the acting business in 1996 after taking on a small role in the television movie Psychic Detectives . Other supporting roles in films soon followed, for example in Every Damn Sunday , Hard at the Limit or Dirty . Between 2004 and 2006 Galicia, at that time under the name Robinson, could be seen recurring as Pepper in the series Huff - Ready for the Couch .

In 2012 she was cast by director Quentin Tarantino in his western Django Unchained in the role of Sheba . The film was successful both financially and critically, introducing Galicia to a wider audience. In 2014 she took on the role of Juliet in Wish I Was Here . In 2015 she took on a leading role as Kindzi in the third season of the series Defiance .

At the beginning of her career, Galicia was regularly listed under the name Nichole Robinson. In 2009 she changed it to Nichole Galicia. She is an avid art collector.
