Niclas Bardeleben

Niclas Bardeleben (* 1990 ) is a Danish jazz musician ( drums , also vocals, composition), who initially also emerged as a dancer.

Bardeleben began training on classical drums very early on. Between the ages of seven and 16, he was a member of the Tivoli Boys Guard . During this time he was also twice Danish master in swing dancing . At the age of 15 he decided to focus on playing drums in the future. He then attended the basic musical course at the Sankt Annæ Gymnasium in Copenhagen , where he deepened his instrumental training in jazz, and then the Skurups Folkhögskola , which he did not complete due to touring obligations .

For one year Bardeleben (2010-2011) was hired as the drummer of the house band in Jazzhus Montmartre ; From 2013 to 2017 he was resident drummer at The Standard Jazz Club in Copenhagen. Since 2011 he has been a member of Niels Lan Doky's trio , with whom he has created several albums. With saxophonist Johan Bylling Lang he founded the Bylling / Bardeleben Project, which released the album A Little New Orleans Never Hurt Anybody in 2016 . In 2017 he founded his band Niclas Bardeleben & No Bad News and in 2018 the Niclas Bardeleben Jazz Quintet . He worked with Gino Vannelli , David Sanborn , Joey Alexander , Ira Coleman , Anders Bergcrantz , Roberta Gambarini , Brian Lynch , Paolo Russo, Jesper Lundgaard , Gerard Presencer , Jonas Johansen, Selené Muñoz, Roland Guerin, Steve Masakowski , Barry Stephenson , the New Birth Brass Band , Gerald French and Norbert Susemihl's Joyfull Gumbo . Bardeleben can also be heard on albums with Didier Lockwood , Debbie Sledge and Hans Knudsen / Christian Bundgaard.
