Nico Müller (born March 16, 1982 in Rodewisch ) is a German opera singer (high baritone ) and singing teacher .

Life

Nico Müller began his musical training at the Vogtland Music School in the subjects of singing, piano and accordion .

From 2001 the winner of the competition ( Jugend musiziert ) studied vocal pedagogy at the Dresden University of Music and opera singing at the Weimar University of Music. There he was supervised by Mario Hoff and took part in courses from Olaf Bär , Karl Peter Kammerlander and Charlotte Lehmann . After graduating (2009) as a qualified singer in the field of music theater, opera and concert, he successfully completed the postgraduate course “concert exam” at the Cologne University of Music (2010).

Known as a member of the Adoro formation (over 1.7 million records sold / multiple Echo nominations), the German opera singer is also successful as a soloist on German and international stages. He has already sung with greats like Barbra Streisand , Josep Carreras , Grace Bumbry and Joceline B. Smith in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2013 he released his first solo album Meet Again .

Nico Müller is also very active in music theater as well as in the areas of song, concert and oratorio. His engagements have taken him to the Dresden State Operetta , the Sondershausen Castle Festival , the Chemnitz Opera House , the Gera-Altenburg , Hof , Weimar and Münster theaters . There he took on various solo roles in The Marriage of Figaro ( Mozart ), The Beautiful Helena ( Offenbach ), Jekyll and Hyde ( Wildhorn ), Les Misérables ( Schönberg ) and sang the title role in Wolfgang Rihm's opera Jakob Lenz .

In addition to his concert activities, he works as a singing teacher in the field of musicals and classical music. He teaches regularly in Dresden and Sulzbach-Rosenberg (Bavaria). In addition to his own appearances, Müller also repeatedly produces music videos for his YouTube channel with befriended singers and his young students, for example, together with Maximilian Schütze, an interpretation of “When Your Feet Don't Touch the Ground” from the musical Finding Neverland ( Barlow ), a duet between JM Barrie and Peter Llewelyn-Davies, and with Julian David “It's Only Christmas”.
