Nicolás Albarracín , full name Nicolás Gabriel Albarracín Basil , (born June 11, 1993 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

According to his club, the 1.80 meter tall midfielder Albarracín is the son of his parents Alfredo and Laura. He has two younger siblings named Agustín and Victoria. At the age of five he played in the youth teams of the Montevideo Wanderers since baby fútbol . Albarracín has been in the Montevidean first division squad since at least the 2010/11 season. This was the first time he had coach Daniel Carreño from the team playing in the Quinta División . In that season he completed a league game in the Primera División . In 2011/12 he stayed without first division. In 2011 he also completed a 15-day trial training session at the Premier League club Liverpool FC . In the 2012/13 season he will play eleven games in Uruguay's top division. In doing so, he scored a hit. In January 2013 he joined the Italian Serie B club Spezia Calcio on loan . In the remaining games of the season he was used three times by the Italians. He made his debut in the Italian second division in the 3-2 away defeat by Sassuolo on February 16, 2013. Another league game followed in 2013/14. At the beginning of January 2014 he returned to the Montevideo Wanderers, who had already played a successful first round with fourth place after the 2013 Apertura . His club subsequently won the 2014 Clausura and the Uruguayan runner-up. Albarracín contributed to this with eleven league appearances and five goals. In the 2014/15 season he was used 25 times (three goals) in the Primera División and eight times (two goals) in the 2015 Copa Libertadores . On August 7, 2015, Club Atlético Peñarol announced that Albarracín was on loan for two seasons. Peñarol paid $ 300,000 for this and acquired 30 percent of the transfer rights. In the 2015/16 season, he played 22 first division games (two goals) and three games (one goal) in the 2016 Copa Libertadores . The team became Uruguayan champions. During the 2016 season he was used ten times (three goals) in the league and twice (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2016 . For the 2017 season he moved to Deportivo Cali in Colombia on loan for a year . In the first half of the year he came on 15 missions (one goal) in the league and was Colombian runner-up, but he did not complete a game over 90 minutes. He was also used in four cup games and one game of the Copa Sudamericana. At the end of July 2017, it was awarded again to Peñarol.

National team

Albarracín was part of Uruguay's U-15 selection . However, no missions are recorded for him there. On May 5, 2012 he made his debut under coach Juan Verzeri as part of the Suwon Cup in the 1-0 victory over New Zealand in the Uruguayan U-20 national team . He was also a member in the following years. In a tournament in the province of Chaco he came for the U-20s both in the semi-finals against Brazil on June 28, 2012 and in the 2-0 victory over Chile in the game for 3rd place on June 30, 2012 as a substitute Commitment. Altogether, Albarracín has so far (as of July 8, 2015) ten international matches (no goal) to book.

On May 19, 2015, he was initially nominated by coach Fabián Coito for the provisional U-22 squad at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto . After all, he was on the final squad and won the tournament with the Celeste.
