Career

society

The 1.79 meter tall center forward, not to be confused with the Uruguayan professional footballer Nicolás López , who was active for racing , the Ecuadorian Manta Fútbol Club and El Tanque Sisley , had been a member of Nacional Montevideo since he was 12 years old . There he played in the youth teams and at a time when he was still eligible to play for the Quarta División, he made the leap to the Tercera División . In the Clausura 2011 and the Apertura 2011 he was in the first division of the Bolsos . López celebrated his debut in the Primera División - probably because of his distinctive teeth - "Conejito" (German: bunny) under coach Juan Ramón Carrasco on April 24, 2011 in an encounter with Central Español . Right on his first appearance, he also scored his first goal in Uruguay's top division. Overall, he scored three goals in five missions for Nacional's first division team. That year, in April 2011, with twelve goals scored, he was also the top scorer at the Punta Cup , which Nacional finished in second place. In the 2010/11 season he was Uruguayan champion with the Bolsos . Then he went to Italy in January 2012. There he joined AS Roma . He made his debut with the Romans on the 1st matchday of the 2012/13 season on August 26, 2012 in a 2-2 draw against Catania Calcio and contributed to the equalizer. He was substituted on six times in Serie A and was once successful as a goalscorer. On July 13, 2013, he moved to Udinese Calcio within Italy . After he was used for his new club in the Europa League qualification against Slovan Liberec , he made his debut in the game against Atalanta Bergamo on September 29, 2013 in Serie A. He scored his first and Serie A goal for Udinese on December 21, 2013 in the 1: 2 away win on matchday 17 against AS Livorno . He played a total of 21 league games there in the 2013/14 season and scored two goals. At the end of August 2014, he moved to Hellas Verona on loan for a year . The loan deal included a purchase option with a transfer fee of 18 million euros to be paid for the player represented by Pablo Bentancourt . In the 2014/15 season he played 24 times (five goals) in Serie A. His club finished the season in 13th place. Early August 2015, he moved to another lending agreement for one year from within Spain for FC Granada . At the same time, he extended his contract with Udinese until June 2019. For the Spaniards, he played in eight first division games and twice in the Copa del Rey , but could not score. In January 2016 he was loaned to Nacional Montevideo. In the 2016 Clausura, he played twelve games and hit the opposing goal seven times. He also played nine games in the Copa Libertadores 2016 and scored four goals. At the end of July 2016, he was transferred from Udinese Calcio to the Brazilian club SC Internacional . So far (as of April 22, 2017) he was with the Brazilians in 24 league games (five goals) ( Série A : 12/0; Gaucho 1st Div .: 11/4; Primeira Liga: 1/1) and five games ( two goals) of the Copa do Brasil .

López made his debut on October 11, 2012 under coach Juan Verzeri in the 2-1 win over Peru's U-20 selection in the Uruguayan U-20 national team . In July 2013, he was then runner-up with Uruguay at the U-20 World Cup in Turkey in 2013 . In the course of the tournament he played seven games, scored four goals and was finally awarded the Silver Ball. So far (as of July 5, 2013) he has completed 19 international matches for the U-20s, in which he scored a total of eleven goals.
