Life

The son of the theologian Benedikt Martini was a student at the Bordesholm Princely School from 1648 and then a student at the University of Helmstedt , the University of Jena and the University of Rostock , which in 1658 granted him the license to teach (Lic. Jur.). In 1665 he became one of the founding professors of the University of Kiel ( doctorate there in 1666). He first taught at the philosophical faculty and in 1671 became a full professor at the law faculty. The chair's successor was his son-in-law Christoph Heinrich Amthor .

Because Martini initially represented political philosophy at Kiel University and read in the winter semester 1665/66 about the "first principles of politics according to true and fixed, that is, Aristotelian principles according to the laws of the analytical method" , he becomes one of the early predecessors of the Kielers Political science counted.
